"Then it’s a fucking duck, Jess. Yeah, I get it.” Emily retorts, Jess’s comment an answer to her previous question ( “What is that? Is that...is that a pigs head?” ). They’re staring at an actual pigs head, wrapped in barbed wire stuck in the mount of snow they had just passed not more than but thirty minutes ago. And it was definitely not there before. The ominous note that reads WELCOME BACK that’s attached to it unsettles Emily’s stomach. She brings her arms to her chest to hold herself, God, it smelt horrible. “Is this supposed to be a joke?” It’s not funny now--and it’s not funny when the overhead lights go off, bathing them in complete darkness. Panic raises within her chest as she glances around, her eyes adjusting to the sudden change in lighting. “I don’t like this. Let’s get the hell out of here.”
