Coriander with a hint of cayenne? Darcy and the OG avengers circa AOU never happened.
“Stop making that face,” Jane said, not looking up from the Starkpad she was using to take inventory.
“Face? I’m not making a face,” Darcy lied.
“Mmhm.”
“It’s just-”
“Here we go,” Jane said.
“Stark Tower? Really? WHY.”
Jane set the pad down and looked over at her friend. “Do you want the list?”
“No,” Darcy said, scowling down at her fingers as she ticked off items. “Safer since the SHIELDRA crash, more money, more opportunities, blah blah, I read all the memos. I just. It’s so corporate.”
“You majored in POLISCI!”
“To fight the man! Not work for him!”
Thor entered the room to find his two favorite Midgardians glaring daggers at each other from across a sea of boxes. He paused, took in the situation at a glance, then like the astute prince he was, slowly started to back away.
“Thor!” Jane called, making the blond freeze in his tracks. “Tony isn’t the Man anymore, back me up.”
“He is Iron Man,” Thor pointed out.
“Not that man, THE Man.”
Thor glanced sideways at Darcy, “He...is trying not to be THE Man?” Both women scowled at that response, and he hastened on: “Tony has a capacity for great good within him, but perhaps not the greatest control over his own impulses.” Thor rolled his eyes when Darcy gave him a Look at that pronouncement.
“Science bender Jane times a thousand, but with more toys and louder noise.”
“That is...not entirely inaccurate,” Thor said with an apologetic look at his ladylove. “
“Maybe he needs a Darcy, then,” Jane said.
“Maybe,” Darcy said, then, “Fine, I’ll give it five months. For you.”
