Am I the only marble hornets fan that is kinda glad Tim isn’t in the rosswood series from a narrative perspective?

I keep seeing posts like this “i understand real life Tim didn’t wanna participate but im gonna miss him” and like.

Okay ignoring that fact real life Tim didn’t want to be involved (which is completely understandable and valid) I kinda feel like the ending of marble hornets is so impactful, for me at least, because it showed Tim managing to escape the cycle of torment caused by The Operator. Something he’s been trapped in since childhood. He believed he was the cause of it yet he was the only one of the four guys to escape it. Sure, he still had that coughing fit when talking to Jessica which is definitely ominous but that final shot of the road ahead is SO impactful. And I love that we don’t know where Tim goes afterwards. There’s no dialogue, no commentary. Once the camera is off, it doesn’t turn back on. It shows that he’s truly free now. His future post Marble Hornets is open ended because it’s not for us to see. That camera, Jay’s camera, a symbol of all he’s witnessed, something he tried so hard to avoid, is finally able to look away. To look ahead. To look at the future in front. And so was tim.

So like. Yeah I’m happy with how Tim’s story ended.

Okay can I be a bitter Anders fan for like. Just 2 minutes here lmao

Cause bioware released some game stats for veilguard and apparently 72% of players redeemed Solas which is like. Okay yeah the game kinda pushes you towards that. But when I think of all the shit I used to have to put up with just for enjoying Anders like at all and…

(This is not me being anti-Solas, I do not care if you love or hate him, but I am gonna say what he’s done is like. Objectively worse than literally every other companion so lmao. And that’s fine! You can still enjoy him! I’m not saying you can’t and it’s important to me that people understand that! I’m just saying he did in fact do objectively morally worse things in game than Anders did and I don’t think that’s really debatable. And I can’t really make my point here without saying that but I do want to make it clear this is not some moral condemnation of Solas enjoyers cause it’s not)

Getting anon hate on the regular, being told “oh you’re allowed to like Anders as long as you regularly talk about how much he sucks”, people gleefully describing how much fun they have killing him ON your posts about the fact that you like him, the devs making jokes about shitty fates for him when fans asked innocent questions about him, the absolute audacity of his writer to say half the shit she did in interviews (about bisexuality and mental illness, most critically), and then being beaten over the head again in inquisition about how Anders is the worst character to ever exist and there’s no redemption for terrorists who lie to you one time in the entire game and he deserves death or worse and that’s it

And now… 72% of people are down to redeem the guy who lies to you for 2 games straight and who did a lot of questionable things that includes creating the fucking blight and. Like. I guess I’m glad that Solas fans can live in a world where they aren’t constantly harassed and can give their ship like. A pretty damn good ending all things considered. And that the devs love Solas and actually give the option for that happy ending and have characters go to bat for Solas throughout the game and the most annoying thing they have to see are people making scrambled egg memes. I would not wish anyone to have to deal with the shit Anders fans had to put up with back then cause it sucked. It really sucked. And I’m glad it’s not being repeated with a different character, if nothing else

But like. Man there really is a difference when the writers actually like the character who does the thing, huh

Okay question: if I were to make a comic fanfic combination thing, where I write a fanfic but draw some parts of it as comic strip-type drawings to add in between the text, would anybody read that?

Because I'm still pretty new to writing and so most of my fanfic ideas are really just comic ideas that got too long. But I always have parts of those ideas that I'd love to draw and then other parts that I feel like would work better if they were written out with internal monologue and all that, where I then feel like drawing all of it wouldn't really work and I don't even know how I'd convey it best visually. But then I also have parts where I really wouldn't know how to properly write down what I'm seeing in my brain, but where I have a clear Image in my head that I want to draw.

So I'm just wondering, because that would be a bigger project... if I do this and it's always a mix of text and comics/drawings (obviously made in a way where it doesn't throw off the flow of the story too much), would people read that and be able to get into it?

(Also because I want to show the vibe of a scene and sometimes it' just really hard to write that when I can also just draw it and have it look exactly how I'm imagining it. Like, I'd love to be able to show how exactly I see a scene by adding the drawn visual in between the written text ^^)

you're saying this to someone who is potentially doing a phd in a field where you absolutely don't need a phd or a masters degree. i get what you mean but at the same time im a firm believer in furthering your education and learning as much as possible and getting degrees. the job market is shit with or without a masters degree.

Thinking about the blushcrunch situation and figuring out what to do about my PCxDW stuff now

(Long-ish rant incoming)

Now, I’ll be honest, I have not much idea on what’s going on with Qwel. All I’ve heard is that apparently they knew about R*x’s actions months beforehand and only fired him to save their own social image. There are already documents from the victims themselves (which I unfortunately do not have the link to), and Qwel hasn’t responded yet, so I’m just steering clear of anything to do with Blushcrunch right now. Of course, when I first heard about this, I didn’t believe it as much since it was coming from DuckAdam, who is R*x’s friend. Thought it was something made up so R*x can get his revenge or whatever the hell, but after seeing actual documents made against Qwel from victims themselves, I’m not sure what to think of it anymore. Of course, I’m just an internet stranger who was very into Dandy’s World, not someone involved in the situation, so I can’t say much on the behalf of anyone’s sides (but I still hope the victims are doing okay.) All I can do is not play Dandy’s World (cause y’know, if I play, they get money), wait for Qwel’s response, and wait. But that also leads to my next question.

What the hell should I do with PCxDW now? This AU was very dear to me and it’s one of the main reasons why I got so into both of these things lowkey. Made sm shit that I’m proud of too. But because of this situation, I’m not sure what I should do. I don’t wanna be ignorant of the victims and continue something related to someone so horrible, but I also want to keep on making content about these 4 idiots I made. I have so much planned and they might just get thrown away. I don’t wanna make this decision since I know I’ll be too biased on whatever the hell, plus I’m way too indecisive. That’s kind of the reason why I’m making this post, but yeah. Any thoughts??
