Since we do not have a television here in our boarding house, I just waited for a transcript of PNoy's SONA.
I read it. Aside from anticipating what may happen tomorrow (professors asking for reaction/ pop quiz), I realized that I do not know anything about what's happening right now in our country. And it is a shame, because my tuition's being paid by most of the Filipinos.
The problem now, is that I do not know how I should feel about what our president has said. There's a part of me which wants to believe in all that he has reported and applaud the government for this change. However, there is also this part of me wanting to question whether all that he has said is true, or at least, whether all that he has said can be felt by the masses. Still, there is this part of me doubting his motives of the way he presented his 3rd SONA.
I am not anti-PNoy nor I am a pro-PNoy. I am for good governance. I hope the administration will really be faithful to its promise of a transparent government. It isn't as easy as what we think, that is why we must support our leaders in their programs and projects, at least those which would be of help to the people.
I want to believe that the Philippines can recover from its dark past even though corruption has long been instilled in our core.
(My apology if this post seems to be a serious yet very impartial reaction to a national issue.)
