 You hissed as the water spilled over the mug and hit your hand. Your eyes closing in pain as you quickly wrap the kitchen towel around it. 

“What hapepned?!” Minhyuk is immediately by your side having abandoned his task of cooking breakfast. 

“Hot water,” you mumble and he gently eases the cloth away to see a reddened strip along the side of your index finger. He frowns. 

“What can we do?”

“I need to rinse it with cold water and then put petroleum jelly on it.”

He pauses. “Have you done this before?”

You grimace before nodding slowly. “Maybe a few.”

A tiny smile cracks his worried face and you smile back a little. 

“No more tea making for you,” he gently instructs while pulling you over to the sink. You let him rinse it with cold water before he darts away for the jelly. he comes back with a decent sized bandaid and he jelly. 

“Come sit.”

He pulls the kichen chair out for you and you do while resting your arm on the table so he can nurse your hand. You admire him. The way he concentrates, the way he took over and helped get you patched up. You smile as he leans in to see better as he swipes the cool jelly over the mark. 

“I love you,” you murmur. He pauses, gaze lifting to yours. You smile softly, cheeks flushed. 

“I love you,” he responds, his voice raspy from choking back any other noise or words. Those simple three words were just enough.

You lean in pressing your lips to his and he smiles before kissing you back quickly. 

He clears his throat before going back to your hand. “Kisses after your are wrapped up.”

You giggle and continue to observe his taking care of you.
