I thought of a song to send you, because it made me think of Jason Todd when I thought about it, but it's in spanish. Because, well, I speak spanish. It's called Como la cigarra (Like the cicada) by Maria Elena Walsh
I won't translate the whole thing, but the first verse goes:
so many times they killed me
Si many times I died
However, I'm still here
Resurrecting
And the chorus says:
Singing in the sun
Like the cicada
After a year under the earth
The same as the survivor
That returns from the war
that's such a gentle song. I love to imagine Jason listening to this after getting home from patrol in the early morning. Just sipping a tea as he leans against the window, watching the sunrise as he murmurs the words along, voice barely straining to be a melody.
