for @sofxagarcia
sure, the shift could have gone a lot worse, but with his mind clouded with sofia, on the brink of tears because of him-- he couldn’t focus. he stumbled, from all the moments he took to peek at her at the bar, and for all the times he notes the way someone was chatting her up. it was a tough pill to swallow, that he may have just pushed the only person he genuinely had away. his shift let him off at least two hours before hers ended, and with a quick message passed on to a colleague to hand over to sofia, letting her know he’s left, the man scurried off to the nearest convenience store.
there was something about the way the night wraps around your body when your heart is heavy, just as his was. he could only hope that things could still be alright. heavy boots thud against the hardwood panels of his living room as he arrives, not bothering to set the lights on knowing that the sun was due to do it’s job soon enough anyway. he sets the baggy down on the counter, and scribbles down a quick note before heading to bed
i’m sorry. it’s for you, i know you like them. also try not to finish all the beer while you’re at it. i wanna tell you the truth and i definitely gotta be buzzed for that to happen.
xx, vinny
