I finished reading Blue Proustian Moment today. As I read the manga, I could feel the taste of summer and citrus on the tip of my tongue, and I smiled from start to finish. The way it addressed issues like gentrification and classism was a bit simplistic and could have been explored in more depth, but it still managed to get the message across very well. The setting and characters are full of life. It’s a pleasure to follow the blossoming of the protagonists’ relationship and how they’ve changed. And to complement the dynamic, the manga’s humor was spot-on. The comical situations really remind me of everyday life, and that made me laugh even more. I wish there were more chapters so I could learn more about how Moka’s life unfolded away from Kazuki, but even so, it was a satisfying and sweet ending, just like their reunion.
