There was a mix of the way she felt while looking at her little brother. Kassandra swallowed thickly, amber gaze shifting away from him for a moment. She doesn’t even notice how she looks at him, but she knows she has mix of emotions. There love, hope, frustration... Guilt most of all. That day on the mountain, she attempted to save her baby brother but only caused them more pain. But how could she stand there at such a young age and watch her baby brother fall to his death? She could have stayed back and let it happen- to live the easy ‘normal’( well as ‘normal’ as it could be ) life without the small cries of her baby brother. Without cradling him in her arm, and knowing he’s safe. Mater would have left regardless, and possibly taken her with. She breathed in shakily, gaze averting back to him. Tears threatening to sting at the corner of her eyes.
❝... Sometimes I look at you and remember
that night on the mountain. It plays over in my
head every night. I failed to protect you, but I want
to make it right with you.❞
She murmured, approaching her little brother slowly. They both weren’t much for physical affection, so she just moved a hand out to place over his arm gently- giving it a small squeeze.
❝Life could have been so much different for us
in a better way. We can’t take back the past, but we
can move forward. Move forward with me, Alexios.
I... I can’t do this alone.❞
