Solar Flare wasn't always the cute little thing you know and love today. She used to be a monster, devoid of emotions until the 16th century.
With every soul she took, she slowly gained emotions – that's how her soul-eating power works; each soul adds to her emotional depth. But don't worry, she rarely does it nowadays. She's definitely more of a cake-feeding fiend nowadays
