På mandag skjer det!

Ja dere! Nå er snart “katta ute av sekken”. Om bare tre dager lanseres endelig kampanjen jeg har vært så hemmelighetsfull om! Det har vært en kjempespennende prosess, og jeg er utrolig stolt og beæret over å ha få kommet så tett på og være en del av utviklingen! Alt fra utvelgelse av skuespillere og setningsoppbygning, til møter med produksjonsbyrået og siste finpuss er vi blitt inkludert i, så dette føler jeg virkelig en sterk tilknytting til. Nå gjelder det bare å se om befolkningen er like stor fan som meg ;)

Gleder meg masse til å dele dette med dere, og å høre deres tilbakemeldinger!  Ha en strålende fredag, så kommer det mer nytt fra meg snart!

It's so strange to realize some things you grew up with aren't universal!

Like, I never really though about it before I moved out of my home town, but the celebration we throw when the sun returns after the winter obviously can't be a universal thing, as most places don't have polar night. Where I'm from, it is simply known as the, "sun day", and usually involves kids wearing homemade paper hats with little orange and yellow suns on them while parading through the streets and signing songs about the sun, having orange jelly, or "sun buns"; sweet buns with custard, and getting half a day off from school to enjoy the daylight. I miss it, it’s really an amazing feeling seeing the sun for the first time in February when you haven't seen it since November, even though I'm very happy to get some sun in January after spending the holidays back home.

Are any of you from somewhere inside one of the polar circles, and if so, do you do anything special when the sun returns where you are from? I'd love to know of any other ways to celebrate it, if that's a thing!

Soldagen

Today, the 21ts of January, is the day of the sun...or sun-day (directly translated) here in Northern-Norway.. Since in this part of Norway the sun goes down in the end of November and we're polar night in almost two months. Regions over the polar circle will experience polar night and the further north you live, the longer they will last.

In the town where I live, the sun is expected to be seen around the 16th of January, but because we are surrounded by mountains the sun wont show until today.

In elementary school, children usually sing songs about the sun and make decorations for it too. The stores also sell 'solboller ' aka berliner doughnuts and we eat them to celebrate the sun returning.

The 18th of January is the day the sun returns to Vadsø, my home town in Norway. If its a clear day you'll be able to see the sun for the first time since November. The day is usually celebrated wearing sun-shaped hats, festing on sun-buns and yellow squash :D Hurra for soldagen! #soldagen #sun #finnmark #illo #illustration #drawing
