Super unpopular Dragon Age opinion under the cut. So if you’re gonna get mad about it don’t read I’m not trying to fight

I don’t like Solas.

I don’t find him compelling as a “tortured” bad guy. I just think he’s a bad guy willing to do damage that can’t be undone just because he doesn’t like the consequences of his own actions

I have played the romance and I still don’t find it compelling

I also don’t care if he feels bad, he should feel bad.

He doesn’t see the people of Thedas as people.

Not even after Inquisition

And I’m not at all excited that he’s going to be such a huge part of Veilguard.

People can like what they like, I love that for them, but I am concerned that the devs are going to be so worried/focused on giving Solevallan shippers what they want that it’s going to weaken the story overall

If you love Solas that’s great! I just don’t find him compelling

Calling a talented writer

I had a dream where Solas and Lavellan came face to face, the old world ending around them.  Solas knows in his heart that he couldn’t kill Lavellan, so he instead put her to sleep for a few hundred years while he re-made the world the way he thought it should be.

Eventually, he removes the spell from Lavellan and she wakes up (having not aged because the elves have their immortality back).  Her body has been storing magic for all the years she was asleep, she she’s crazy powerful when she wakes up, and she is absolutely furious with Solas for what he did.

The details after that are hazy, but I can imagine Lavellan becoming Solas’ enemy, and maybe she’s angry enough to try and release the Evanuris.

I can’t write to save my life, so could someone with actual talent please write this? :)
