Before...
I'm in bed trying desperately to sleep. But my mind is all over the place. Tomorrow night I will be on a plane somewhere over the ocean on my way to India. I will spend several days taking pictures and videos of a sweet couple as they meet their daughter for the very first time. I'm thinking back over my life and how I got to this place... As a close friend pointed out recently, God lined up all the pieces of the puzzle to prepare me for this moment in time. He has tested me and guided me and probably wondered what took me so long to get it together and forge ahead on this path He prepared. Adoption has always been close to my heart. In the past, every time I felt that tug on my heart, I assumed God was calling me to adopt. And He did! My sweet Jayden is one of the most precious blessings God has given me. As I felt that familiar tug recently, I realized God has called me to walk a different path at this point in my life. He's not calling me to adopt, but He's calling me to use my gifts to raise awareness and to document adoption. I remember telling April years ago that I wished I could somehow use my photography to portray the emotions that go along with adoption. Eight years later God is giving me that opportunity in a bigger way than I ever dreamed possible! He is merging my talents and my dreams together onto one path. He is allowing this mess of a woman to be used for HIS glory and I am completely humbled by that thought. I'm praying that this trip across the world will be the beginning of a new vision and a new passion. I know for certain the next two weeks will change my life... I can't wait to share the "after"...
