So I don't know a whole lot about Black Sails, but can you tell me about it? Who's your fave character? Why do you love Eleanor? What are your favourite ships and/or friendships? Any characters you absolutely hate?

okay so obviously it’s about pirates (hence the title), but it’s not about just ANY pirates now... but THE infamous captain flint and long john silver! the show itself takes place 20 years prior to the events of the classic novel, treasure island... so the basic storyline of the entire thing (without giving too much away) is it basically revolves around captain flint’s treasure and how he came to get it (bc obviously we were all wondering why this damn treasure was so important when we read TI amiright?). those are just the basics... of course the show doesn’t only revolve around flint and silver, but along with many other characters and some historical figures as well (i.e. anne bonny, blackbeard, jack rackham, etc), but the treasure itself basically changes all their lives... whether it’s for better or worse that’s for YOU to find out! (also, I don’t like to boast, buuuuut GoT can only DREAM of being just as good as black sails was... and that is a honest to god fact!!!)
ooh boy! my favorite character will always be captain flint aka the most fearsome pirate who sailed the seven seas, but who is also such a complete softie for those he loves cares about... like I cannot stress enough on how much I love him? like he does EVERYTHING all for his truest love and I just cannot??? like can you imagine going to war with an ENTIRE country all because they said fuck gay rights?? (YEAH, I’M LOOKING AT YOU ENGLAND!)
eleanor... my bisexual disaster of a daughter who I love so damn much and would die for (literally)! she’s such an amazing and complex character... and I don’t think I have ever seen a female character as complex as her in the media tbh? like you see her struggle to live in a man’s world, while her own father doesn’t give two shits about her bc she was born the wrong gender... like she literally fights and survives in this world... all while battling on who she wants to be... I don’t know if that even makes sense but y’know? like this young woman... literally, governs a place full of pirates... you know... those people who r*pe, plunder, and kill... the very same people the lords and nobles are scared shitless of? yeah, those people. she literally governs an ENTIRE ISLAND of them and they actually listen to her, because they know well enough NOT to fuck with eleanor guthrie aka the queen of thieves... and honestly I love her for that.
okay, so I love pretty much all the relationships on this show tbh?? like they’re all so well written and just really good?? obviously, I wish some characters got to interact with others more or at least once, but my all-time favorite ship is flinthamilton(s) bc they’re just so wholesome and soft and I just want to cry??? as for actual friendships... I absolutely adore flint and eleanor bc he is literally the father she deserved and I will die on that hill... and while I’m on this topic... the show itself could have went somewhere entirely romantic with these two (esp. during the one scene) and they didn’t... and I will always respect the creators for that tbh. bc why have some creepy relationship when you can have a father/daughter relationship with two people who aren’t even blood-related??
PETER ASHE AND WOODES ROGERS (or as @lady-eleanor-vane calls him... woodeshit rogers lmaoo) also douchefreqnse and grandpa but nobody gives a shit about them anymore so.... also, I’m not going to go into too much with peter bc no matter what it’ll be a spoiler, but he’s a shitty friend is all I’m saying. AND WOODEY HOWEVER... he’s an absolute piece of shit human being that doesn’t deserve to live. like you ever meet someone and your gut basically warns you not to trust them bc it knows they’re a horrible person? yeah, that’s what happened with me on woodes rogers AND BOY WAS I RIGHT. anyway, he got what he fucking deserved and that’s that on that.
