One of my neighbors puts up this horse decoration every year for Halloween. It's also accompanied by a little skeleton dog. I always get a kick out of the fact that the ears are bones. He is known between me and my friends as "horse with bone in it".

"S- Spock." Jim could barely get a word in between the soft kisses being pressed all over his face. "Honey, this is just a diplomatic mission," he said softly. "Nothing's gonna happen to me." Spock leaned his forehead against Jim's, continuing to trace his fingers across his jawline. "Please return safely," he intoned, his soft brown eyes meeting Jim's. "I will be waiting." Jim couldn't suppress a fond smile. He kissed Spock and sent a ripple of affection through their bond. "I'll miss you too."

Spock padded across the carpet, handed Jim a mug, and sat down on the sofa. "Although I respect the traditions of your culture," he sighed, settling in, "this is preferable to the customary festivities." Jim chuckled. "Yeah, I'd choose a night in with you over a big New Year's party anytime." He laid his head on his husband's shoulder. "There is one tradition I'd like to do, though." Spock's eyebrow raised. "Which one?" Jim took Spock's hand and pressed their fingers together. "A midnight kiss."

Away missions came with surprises- beaming into a huge field of wildflowers was one of the most pleasant. Jim had taken barely a moment to sniff a tulip-shaped bloom before he heard laughter from behind him. Uhura and Bones were tucking flowers into Spock's hair while he stood stock still, a green blush creeping up his cheeks. "You look lovely, Mr. Spock," Jim teased with a grin. Spock pulled a hand from behind his back, revealing a bright red flower and offering it to Jim. "As do you, captain."

i think probably most of humanity wants to hug chris pine regardless of sexuality. as we go through the turmoil of trying to figure out our sexualities, at least we can take solace in chris's warm and comforting embrace
