Everything was falling apart. Severon's arrogance had caused the unthinkable but predictable, his own creations turned against him. Amadeus' beasts were going out of control, too many of his menagerie were released at once as the Spring chancellor battled to reclaim what had been taken from him. The archfey's magic was formidable, even for Felandaris and his sorcerers, it was all they could do to keep the White Flame at bay. While the Architect really only wanted to playfully torture Nirvaan, he had to turn his attention fully onto the city below as the Titan was reformed and the unthinkable occurred.
Before the ilithids broke free, Felandaris felt it come on quickly. Expeditiously. A spasm that resounded in his chest, precipitated by a moment of frustration before agony and fury took hold. Whatever was happening below, Felandaris abandoned his post completely as he was consumed by shadows and appeared outside the Inquisitor's lair. Sentries were decimated, severed into pieces as they squirmed on the very bring of death but were not permitted to cross that threshold. He did not take the stairs and he did not run down any hallways, Felandaris tore his way through the foundation itself as the chambers crumbled around him to land at Somniar's side.
His beautiful broken King, an arm had been blown off, a portion of his chest where it had connected was gone as well, and Somniar's face... That gorgeous expression of architecture was marred, the line of bone that defined the left side of his jaw and cheek were all completely exposed. "Not this." Felandaris noticed the Elder Brain next, the bring that it sat in was filling with blood and gray matter. He understood the implications, every ilithid everywhere would be free of its compulsion, and they would remember the care that Somniar devoted to raising the creatures that he coddled. The Inquisitor would always deny it, he'd scowl and he'd look away, but when Somniar thought that no one was watching, Felandaris bore witness to the affectionate way the Inquisitor all but cooed at his leaches.
"Not this." Felandaris said again, he refused. He would not allow it. Nothing would take Somniar from him, not death, not time, not destiny or fate, nothing. Shadows cauterized and stitched with painful precision as the drow worked restoration through application of the dark. "You will not leave me. I won't allow it. You will not die do you hear me?!"
