this album is the solo project of the lead singer of have a nice life. he wrote this album when he was at the brink of suicide. he is doing much better now. he named the project after Giles Corey of the salem witch trials who was killed by pressing. where more and more stones were laid on his stomach because he refused to give a plea as to whether he was a witch or not. his wife had been hanged for witchcraft and in the fervor he joined in the accusations. his last words were "more weight"

the walrus hunt - the residents

a very mysterious band. been going since the late 60s, since then the identity of one member had been revealed. and that was only due to his death. this is from Eskimo, an ambient album where they went to the arctic circle and collected field recordings. the album is certainly an experience

if you know neutral milk hotel, it is a spin off of the collective of bands surrounding that area and culture, very much an experimental anonymous collective.

the second one is a band close to grazhdanskaya oborona, which was part of the anti ussr siberian punk scene in the 80s. this is taken from a live performance in the lead singer of grazhdansaya oborona's apartment.

oh i LOVE the beginning of the first one, very eerie for a moment, totally tickled my brain. and i couldn't understand a word of the second one, but the 80s punk scene is absolutely awesome across all languages, so it's peak by default.
