Hi!! I told ya I’d be by to rave about Lucy’s new mini and here I am! I’ve listened to it several times now and I’m personally loving all of it! The soft/synth/retro/semi-summery vibes are so nice and it just feels so light and happy! I think One by One is my favorite… but every new listen I’m like nooo the whole ep is wonderful as a whole heh. So of course my question for you is what are your thoughts/favorites from ‘Gatcha!’ so far? 😊

I’m so happy you’re loving this album! I had a feeling that One by One would be your favourite, as soon as I heard the teaser it reminded me a touch of Missing Call and I thought of you. I totally agree with how you’re sizing up the vibes. I’m kinda surprised at just how retro the whole thing feels, and at how synthy it is at times. It’s not necessarily what I’d expect but I love it! I think my favourite is I Got U…? Every time I play it, it just lights me up inside. But then I listen to the whole album and I stay lit up, so who knows

I Got U: Even just trying to think of what to say… yeah I think this is my fave 😂 Sangyeop’s vocals are so wonderful in this! He just goes and lives up in his falsetto and it just grabs me. The vocal melodies in the verses are really interesting, and the way they pepper in the percussion and violin is so fun. And then the chorus is SO CATCHY and with the echoed vocals I just want to sing along so loudly. And then dance to the instrumental sections. And then there’s that fake-out drop into the acoustic bridge. Love it all!
One by One: this song starts so strong!!! all the little details intertwining, and Yeop sitting lower in his register. At first I wasn’t so sure about the vocal effects, and was thinking they might be a little heavy handed, but I’ve changed my mind. They’re really unexpected and unique and interesting. And the chorus is so funky, that drop in with the electric drums and the “uh” – it makes me want to strike a pose. The 80s synths and drums are SO fun. But then the violin solo sounds really modern, it’s a cool mix. I just want to groove with some purple strobes going
Buddy: I think this one is most likely to be my favourite after I Got U. I don’t really know why exactly? I like all the group vocals, again I just want to sing along. The big crashes with the percussion makes is so grand, like I should be singing this on the top of a tall hill. And then that melody in the chorus where Sangyeop starts with “ooo” and then just zig zags with all the finesse (also I just like hearing sangyeop telling me “it’s fine” haha), it’s great
Wonder: This one starts so retro! the chimes and then the “dugga dugga dugga” drums! I just want to sway along. I think this one is the easiest to listen to. It’s just here for a good time. It lulls me, but in a funky way.
