Prepare yourself for the Sonic Storm and reconnect to your inner Ninja. On the 20th of October Meduse MagiQ will host a very special workshop by Lea Kieffer a.k.a Sue-cide and Rocio Marano a.k.a Cat Ninja at Cruquiusweg 120a, Amsterdam. The Ninja Practice The term Ninja refers in our case to a certain state of mind from where we create and move: When the inner ninja is awaken the space is ready to be shaped by the continuous encounter of mystical beasts. The Ninja practice combines intense physicality with somatic practices and partnering work implementing performative scores and tasks of own authorship. Grabbing, locking, rubbing, twisting, bending, jumping, using your feet as hands and your hands as forks. There is a lot to discover in the making itself. Games are made from rules, but rules are made from gaming, too. A matter of trust, a longing for cinematic moments, for a new beginning every time, to start from scratch and from scratching. We will provide a context where all bodies can participate to discover their inner ninja, as well as we will learn how to protect our bodies and the others. The ninja practice started in 2012 when Lea Kieffer a.k.a Sue-cide and Rocio Marano a.k.a Cat Ninja literally crashed into each other pulled by their physical obsessions and wild imagination. In Between bodies colliding, flying and landing, the ninjas geekiness passes thru different layers and mediums of expression ignited by their quirkiness and fantastic storytelling. Together they create and share their practice internationally through performances, events, workshops and videos.
