me to bear mccreary: so i'm thinking about “ashes” from the god of war (2018) official soundtrack and how it expands well beyond a funeral song for the beginning of the story, specifically the big build-up as eivør sings, personalizing faye, and the ascending quality of the melody culminating to very high notes that symbolize the physical journey of kratos and atreus to the summit with faye guiding them to it, and how it then softens as the tension releases from their story and the lyrical melody picks back up with high notes that then descend very soberly, which now symbolizes the end of the journey and faye’s voice fading away (like her ashes, wherein they let go of her physical remains as well as her presence in their quest) as they come back down from the mountain at the end of the game and begin their lives without her as the song ends, anyway was that your intention?
