❝ i’d like it if you stayed. ❞ Maybe it’s a mistake, maybe it isn’t but - Sookie doesn’t want to be alone right now. Not after the day she’s had. Not only has it been rough at work - disgusting pigs - but a vampire had nearly made her his own personal chew toy. When will things stop? When will vampires leave her alone? Well, vampires that aren’t Eric. As much as she gets into it with him sometimes, at least he isn’t trying to make a meal of her.

Does he think he doesn’t? Of course, he does - after all this time, how can he think he doesn’t? She loves him, after all, doesn’t he know that? Or maybe he simply does not want to believe that she still loves him. Maybe he can’t believe it. Maybe believing it means facing the truth that he left while she had stayed behind in some shitty town to fend for herself. Not that she needs his protection when she’s learned how to use her faery powers without burning herself out but that’s not the point.
