i know there have been reddit users migrating over to tumblr, but have there been anyone creating a reddit sub here? i saw that post about making a side blog and turning on submissions to act kind of the way a reddit sub would, and im curious if anyone has tried it bc i would love to give them a follow

the one thing i used reddit for was for subs like r/sewing where it was a centralized thing on that specific topic, not memes or such, and tumblr doesnt really have that, looking at/following the sewing tag is not the same thing

Ok I know I reblogged that post about like, “reddit doesn’t have a single homogenous culture, it’s very ideologically and subculturally diverse due to the structure of the site, which is why tumblr thinks redditors are all shitlords and 4chan thinks they’re all soyboys”, but like...

I mean yeah, that is all probably true in a literal sense...

But as someone who’s spent a lot of time on reddit, I have long had the subjective impression of the average basic redditor (the one who posts on r/AskReddit and r/TIL and whatnot) as like, simultaneously a weird passive-aggressively resentful misogynist nerd-boy and a layabout consoomerist funk-pop loving soyjak-face-maker and like, I don’t think there’s anything actually contradictory about those two facts.
