Our Lost Forever You know, There was a time I clung to every line you uttered. Cluttering my timeline with lines of devotion and that notion that we'd be forever. Together in perpetual bliss, my list was simple To be in your presence, taking in your essence. Bright eyes and dimples. Perfect imperfection down to the occasion pimple. To me that was a happy and simple forever Netflix and Tuesday matinee trips Football games and filled picture frames Wild wings, pillow fights and other wild things Uno and board games and cute pet names that would lead to forever. Forevermore was the goal and my intention but life had a different plan and my addiction to you wasn't in line with it's prescription and the life it scripted for my forever. So in an instance, despite my fight, my insistent will to will you into my life, the essence of your presence was stripped clean from my existence by the hands of life. It's tactics, cold, caustic and drastic took a love like none other and smothered it in a blanket of tragic tragedy. Tragically, with wet eyes, I had to say goodbye to my forever. You see in your absence I couldn't let in any other because I couldn't let go of that devotion and the notion of a forever that wasn't forevermore with you. The thought seemed to skew every color in my rainbow blue. Ignoring the ugly truth for the beautiful lie that You and I could have a true happily ever after forever. Pizza Sundays became sad Sundays where the sun's rays failed to penetrate the clouds of a failed forever. Fun Fridays became constant cry days as I cried for days knowing I needed to let go of my picture of our forever. Countless weeks I laid weak weeping. Seeking solace in candy coated memories remembering nights in the park. Under the stars and the blood moon entangled in each other's embrace, our love illuminating the dark parts of two hearts healed from past pains. I couldn't believe this wasn't meant to last forever.
