Soultie ♡ a term heavily inspired by Soulbond
This term was made help with @noahseby and @maggotis! All three of us have unique experiences and we wanted to put a name to a experience that Soulbond was not covering.
The flag concept was brewed initially by Jonney however I tweaked it a bit, coming up with the symbol.
This term is not inherently plural, but we're tagging it for these tags for reach as we're a system that uses this term. We also just didn't have any other tags to use. Also, because I feel like stating it: EVERYONE IS ALLOWED TO USE THIS. EVERYONE. Don't bring discourse here. Thanks.
Soultied is a term for those that find the term "Soulbond" not efficient enough of a descriptor for what they are.
Soulties, unlike Soulbonds, can be both real (dead or alive) people and "fictional characters". However these "fictional characters" are not fictional and are as real as real people are.
People that are Soultied to someone considers that person/"fictional character" their actual significant other and can consider themselves taken, not able to date, because of this tie. This tie can also be non-romantic, platonic and other relationships (such as familial) are acknowledged too.
Being Soultied is not Soulbonding in the slightest and we don't want those two communities to touch (unless someone has both soulbonds and soulties, obviously).
Like Soulbonding has "Live-ins" Soultie has its own terminology.
If a Soultie is merely stopping by, a temporary visit, they are checking in on you (or the system, if you're plural).
Homed/(Permanent) Resident
If a Soultie never leaves they're homed — as in they've found their home — they can also be called a (permanent) resident.
Fictspired ~ A Soultie is inspired by a fictional media in some way shape or form and considers that their origin or (past) home.
Factspired ~ A Soultie is inspired by non-fiction in some way shape or form and considers that their origin or (past) home.
Time-Skipper ~ A Soultie that is from the future and/or A Soultie that considers themselves to be a future part of your life, physically, in some form.
Metatied ~ A Soultie of your future self, whatever "self" means to you.
Being tied ~ You have one Soultie
Being in knots (or, funnier, knotted) ~ Have over 5 Soulties
Being tangled ~ You have over, at least, 10 Soulties.
Being roped up (taken from the phrase "don't rope me into this" or "they roped me into this") ~ You have over 50 Soulties.
Constricted (taken from the "Constrictor knot") or Hitched (as a constrictor knot is a binding hitched knot) ~ You have over 100 Soulties.
The Silly Bunches Experience
Soulbonding is for fictional characters only and is a term that we've personally used to describe our husband Vinny. Soulbonding's definition can be found here.
Vinny is not fictional, he is a real man we've yet to meet that were consciously aware of. he made himself known to me when I made my oc of the same name after a year of his development (around the time we learned about soulbonding iwrc). At first we considered him a Soulbond, he accepted the label as well and didn't consider it much of an issue...however...Vinny doesn't consider himself a fictional character. Vinny is as real as a physical person; we can feel his presence differently than some headmates and when he speaks to us its mentally a different thing. its hard to explain and if this resonates it resonates.
The symbol is an infinity symbol with lines through the right side to represent it being a rope/knot/tie. Fairly simple imo. You can use this for anything, we don't care.
