“What’s happening right now?” asks Lonan again. He still touches the zippers on Harrison’s garment bags. “Can I help?”

“Can you help?” Harrison bursts, almost laughing, his fist gripping his hair so tightly that a few strands tug loose. “No, Lonan. Sometimes my body heats up like a fucking oven because you turned me into a fire-breathing dragon.”

The room silences, and then Lonan’s quiet voice: “I’m sorry.”
