The release comes with an oversized booklet – my master thesis at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. The paper illustrates my process of appropriating sound production. My personal experience as well as detection of techno-culture is linked to a scientific context – its impact and attraction are explained and findings are integrated into my own production.
Sound itself acts as a substrate. Among a seemingly infinite number of alternatives and repetitions I aim to find my own association and angle. Selection and significance, loops, patterns and compositions, sound generation and use of presets, copy and readymade. Soundselfies refer to the development of this multi-dimensional process, where, in the future, electronic sound production becomes commonplace. Thus, collective experiences of presence, utopian rooms and resistant scenes gain importance in terms of self-determination. The thesis is self-published in german language, if you are interested, don't hesitate to contact me. [email protected]
