These Margarita Cupcakes with Tequila-Lime Buttercream are a delightful treat that captures the essence of a classic margarita cocktail in cupcake form. Perfect for parties and special occasions, these cupcakes are both zesty and boozy, making them a unique and delicious dessert option.
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 1/2 tsp baking powder. 1/4 tsp salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 2 large eggs. 1/2 cup whole milk. 1/4 cup tequila. 1/4 cup fresh lime juice. 1 tbsp lime zest. 1 tsp vanilla extract.
Instructions: Warm up the oven to 350F 175C and put paper liners in a cupcake pan. Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in another bowl until it is light and fluffy. One at a time, add the eggs and beat well after each one. Fresh lime juice, vanilla extract, and lime zest should all be mixed in. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing them in with the milk every so often. Start with the dry ingredients and end with the milk. Don't mix any further than that. Fill each cupcake liner about two thirds of the way to the top with batter. It's done when a toothpick stuck in the middle of a cupcake comes out clean after 18 to 20 minutes of baking. After baking, let the cupcakes cool in the pan for a few minutes. Then, move them to a wire rack to cool completely. Get the Tequila-Lime Buttercream frosting ready while the cupcakes cool. Put the Tequila-Lime Buttercream on top of the cupcakes once they are completely cool. For extra flavor and style, you can add a slice of lime or a sprinkle of lime zest as a garnish.
