Is there any Russian media youd recommend to people trying to learn Russian? Or just music that you like that isnt english
While I have no idea on their educational qualities, I would absolutely recommend watching old Союзмультфильм cartoons. Most of them are a delight, utilize very different animation tech than the one we’re used to nowadays, are fun and very inventive.A good example is russian take on Vinnie the Pooh, which is much more book accurate, but seems much less condescending when juxtoposed with the Disney version,and the 80s-90s take on Bremen Town Musicians two-parter which piles so much more onto the original story, that it’s nearly unrecogniseable. And is told entirely in songs. The cartoon calls itself a “musical fantasy inspired by” but honestly, that doesn’t hold a candle to how much of a riot it actually is.
Sadly, finding them with english subtitles is a quest you will have to go on yourself. My google fu is simply not strong enough
