SHELLEY I like Shelley, Shelley is cool. Oh how I wish she had more screentime and was utilized more! She only ever gets background moments now as the show progresses. I wanna know more about her! Who her friends are, what she enjoys, what she does in her spare time, her relationships with her family expanded further! PLEASE I BEG OF YOU SOUTH PARK give me more Shelley content!
Unless she doesn't count and it has to be a fourth grader, then uhh it is a big major tie between Wendy, Leslie, and Nelly.
Wendy is very obvious. In the first few seasons, she was very cute. A sweetheart and a borderline maniac at times, lol. Of course, she had a major change over time and became more of an activist, which is kind of unfortunate because at times she's just not simply allowed to be a girl as much and more of a mouth piece of commentary for only plot reasons, but also she makes for an incredible character when it calls for it, to the extent of even becoming a badass and walloping Cartman to a pulp or outsmarting him in Dances with Smurfs.
Leslie was so fascinating when she suddenly became a very important character for a few episodes ONLY, in comparison to being a small running gag just before. The way she was so cunning and played the part of an innocent girl stuck between evils was SOO entertaining to watch. How she just used everyone to her gain, her reveal to being an ad, how she IMMEDIATELY GOT KYLE'S SOCIAL NUMBER, AUGH it was practically cinema. I almost wish she and PC Principal had a final throwdown, like a full-on scrabble fight where it becomes kind of scary that a little girl ad is actually holding up with a muscular grown man.
Now Nelly? She's a part of my "small characters" obsession. We get so little of her, but there's so much we know! She seems to be the toughest out of all the girls, almost tomboy-ish in a way? But that could just be me. But what I love most about her is her clear dislike for Butters. It's seen EVEN BEFORE the Weiner's Out movement. The two are like mortal enemies in my eyes, always beefing from afar. It's so silly, but I love it. I bet you she's the only one who sees that Butters isn't always as sweet as others make him out to be. Another reason is because she absolutely carried my ass in the early game of Phone Destroyer lol.
I have said before that The Poor Kid was one of my favorites in an art challenge, and I can still stand by that! I mean, You're Getting Old and Assburgers is amazing. They are S-Tier pieces of film. But I'm sure you've all heard a bunch of praise and essays and literary analyses in regards of those two, so I won't talk about those. In terms of a South Park episode, The Poor Kid is also up on that rank!
It's just so heartwarming how Kenny uses his hero persona to keep his little sister safe, the hilarity of the agnostic foster home and Cartman's ridiculous hijinks about his economic status. It's simple, it's fun, it's humorous, what's more to love?
But, then again, it wouldn't hurt if I could do a proper tier list of ALL the South Park episodes. Maybe I could find a definitive favorite that way. Or maybe The Poor Kid will still stay on top lol
