it’s not often an asylum ( gray area,  complicated definition ) seeker offers their hand in support at such a fast turnaround. ( nebula didn’t NEED that time to adjust,  surely someone who traveled galaxies over knew their way around acclimating to foreign customs. ) so forgive the alarmed look that crosses arthur’s face when she’s stood before wreckage ready for the long days work ahead. 

“  you sure ? tula was looking forward to giving you a tour of  ---  yeah,  even i can’t finish that with a straight face. she hates being put on host duty.  ”  nonetheless,  his smile splits his face,  all teeth and all welcoming even if half - hidden by beard. the king gestured forward,  allowing nebula the lead towards prepared instruments for coral - built structures.  “  this used to be a library. we’re trying our best with a new outreach program to rebuild more of these institutes around the outermost trides. if you really want to do something good,  lending some muscle to prepare these old bones fits that bill nicely.  ”

“  yes.  ”  an answer he knows to walk back as soon as it leaves his mouth.  “  but you shouldn’t. at least not yet.  ”  should they proved foolish enough to take their swing at nebula,  he wouldn’t stop her from some alien - fashioned self - defense however. arthur shakes the water from his hair much like salty,  wringing out whatever droplets remain as they move forward through the pocket of air beneath blackened ocean. 

“  stay vigilant,  if i know this guy  —  ”  and he does,  “  he’ll have an ambush ready. and our objective remains steady,  grab his staff and go.  ”  with reminder breathed in hushed tones,  the king takes his attentions off his fight happy companion and on to their barter for the morning.
