honestly the funniest and most niche Tomarry trope is one i have seen only once in a deleted fic and never stoped thinking about: Harry and Tom’s slang going straight passed one another.

Not that either of them are big slang users. But imagine Harry back in the 1940s and got called one of the really old slurs that losers in the 40s thought were zingers like poof or fairy. Those wouldn’t have been as popular in the 80s and 90s as he was growing up and it would be so funny for him to hear a common insult and be confused.

harry, after spending the summer before stuck in muggle england in 1995, tired, broke, and miserable: word lol

My favourite trope in media is when in the beginning of the story people are like "this is a sacred place with lots of dangers and not a single person has came back from it for centuries! you must go there, risking your life doing so, but we promise you it'll be worth it!" and then by the end it's just "yeah we're here like 24/7, it's basically our home now, so we decided to throw a slumber party cuz... why not, so does anyone know what's the exact address of the place or do people usually identity it by the huge Do Not Enter sign?"

A very specific trope:

Romantic letters written to a childhood friend (who is not aware of the other’s affection) are leaked by a friend of a friend - who wanted the author of the letters to set them up with the person they are both in love with - resulting in several weeks of awkward avoidance, before the author realises that the friend they’re in love with completely missed the letters being leaked and is still completely in the dark, but in working this out they then accidentally reveal their crush anyway.

When a character is sick and delirious but not in a “saying weird shit while lying in bed” way but in a “pushing themself to do something in a frenzy because they can’t logically tell themselves it’s not good to do that. Especially in a state of emotional instability” >>>

His Dark Materials, The Redemption of Althalus, the Keeper of the Sword Chronicles have two things in common. 1: Dimension crossing 2: I read them as a child. 

Every AU I read is great. Are there several of them? I can’t not imagine the universes crossing, or canon crossing with AUs. Falling through to the other one, finding a portal, going back and forth for Plot purposes. Several AUs converging in one spot, communication between the different worlds to cooperate to mend the rift. Multiples of the same characters, but still very different characters. They’d have so different dynamics.

It’s interesting. 

I love dimension/universe crossing, whatever you call it, my original fiction worlds are all connected like this. Bc I love that the modern human guy can very possibly meet up with literal dragons and ride space ships.
