“We promised Mathilde , no more secrets and shadows. Didn’t we?”
@spectresdaughter asked; “How long have you been having these nightmares?”
Rubbing her forehead, Gemma sighed. There had never been a moment in her life when she didn’t have nightmares. Maybe the kinds of nightmares changed once she went on deployments, but other than that, nightmares were just a part of her life. Gemma figured these were just her demons coming to life, and there was no escape. Even if she tried to fight all the burdens that had been thrust upon her, it wouldn’t change. “Fun question, but believe me or not. Nightmares are a nightly occurrence for me, though sometimes I am blessed with the ability to forget them the moment I wake up. Why? Are you going to tell me that you know someone that can treat them? Because I will say you are fucking lying.”
"I thought I would never see you again." @spectresdaughter
Despite his categorically bad luck in life, James knows he’s also experienced minor miracles at times. He’s survived things no man would ever expect to walk away from, and this is no exception. He’s battered and bruised beyond belief - even by his standards this will be a long recovery - but he’s standing in front of Madeleine.
“I didn’t think I would make it.” It’s the closest he’s come to admitting the full truth; that he was scared. Before this mission he’d never really had a reason to want to survive. His movements are stiff - calculated though only to avoid pain - as he closes the gap between them, a hand coming to rest on her cheek. “I couldn’t leave you alone again though.” It’s clear that he doesn’t just mean Madeleine. He has Mathilde to think about now too, and whilst he took time to get back to London, he had come as quickly as his injuries allowed.

"Hello again Swann.......”

Eve hasn’t set foot in a therapist’s office at MI6 since her psych eval that had allowed her to return to the field after her temporary reassignment. This part of the building isn’t exactly somewhere she has felt a need to rush back to, not after she spent so much time here following Istanbul.
But, it’s a necessary step in this process, so she braces herself and knocks on Dr. Swann’s door. She’s heard about the woman, of course, that she was linked to James before he disappeared to god knows where. Their paths have yet to cross though beyond a brief introduction and greetings in the corridors of MI6.
She enters the room and smiles at the other woman in greeting. She suddenly finds herself questioning if that was the right start - has the evaluation already started? Is Dr. Swann already making her judgements? - and clears her throat before she says anything. She doesn’t want to fuck this up.
“I’m Eve Moneypenny, your three o’clock. I’m here for my evaluation?” Her voice trails off, making that last statement a question more than anything else. Not exactly projecting confidence.

“I got it from Papa. It’s safe. He didn’t touch it, he had someone else grab and wrap it and he only touched the box.” Although her mother’s concern might be less about the nanobots and more about her eight year old having such a sharp knife. Mathilde wasn’t sure if she was concerned or not, but her hope was that it would just be fine and she could keep it.
