I think my Spencerian looks good for someone who only started using it last night. The other script I used was Carolingian, which is again, something I only picked up recently. I've been practicing various versions of textura over the years and I wanted to try something new.
I have a commission slot for these open over on my ko-fi now, for $20 (AUD), but for now I'm just doing whatever I think is funny. I'm also planning to set up character art commissions at some point, but probably not for a while because here in Aus the weather is warming up and I don't deal well with that.
"And whatever walked there, walked alone."
The chilling excerpt that bookended the book. Love it!
I got a new pen today, had to try it out with something I saw on here.
Had to see this in calligraphy. Thank you @draculastoothbrush for posting it.
Love these inks but they're too thick. Need to work with them moire to thin them. Got no hairlines at all.
"It’s easy to think that nobody could really arrange the world like clockwork. All sorts of things would get stuck in the mechanisms; history is full of queens and generals who’ve given it a damn good go but failed because of nothing more complicated than the weather. But clairvoyants have a knack for arranging time, and it was not without a sense of irony that Keita Mori was a watchmaker."
The third and latest work by Natasha Pulley, and direct sequel to the first book (The Watchmaker of Filigree Street). Set predominantly in Meiji Japan, this one left me floored and overwhelmed by the revelation made in the last few pages. And it's so damn sad that I still can't bring myself to reread it.
Another excerpt from Poe's The Raven.
I rewrote it with my Platinum 3776 with the intention of making a comparison of Iroshizuku Syo-ro between dip pen and inked fountain pen use. After penning halfway through and wondering why it's surprisingly lighter and more teal-ish, I realized I had this pen inked with Kujaku instead 😅 Oh well, next time, I suppose.
