Back after a brief hiatus, it's a fresh BotD! This Abbott's sphinx (Sphecodina abbottii) came to the light last night and hung out until the wee hours :-).

New leaf-nomming frens. The big boi is an Abbott's sphinx (Sphecodina abbottii); the tiny one is a very early instar and cannot yet be identified.

Sorry, I seem to have fallen a bit behind in my posts this week. Here is my big brick house Abbott’s Sphinx caterpillar (Sphecodina abbotti) that I found out in my back yard and have been feeding grape leaves to for several weeks. He’s close to pupating now.
