i literally got like 5 muffet/reader requests, you guys are the real mvps (and i chose to do Dead Spiders my guy)
You found the odd little pastry shop, tucked between a bookstore and what looked like some kind of boutique with dresses and suits lined in the front windows. It was entirely by accident, a case of misunderstood addresses and the fact that you were far from the best navigator, late for a date you made with some girl on tinder, trying to put yourself out into the dating scene like so many of your friends urge you to do. But the tinder date just wasn’t meant to be, you stumbling through the door of the cute shop, purple, black, and white as far as the eye can see.
You had looked around, a bit confused but trying to hide it, eyes glancing over the various spider-themed decorations. At the time it wasn’t Halloween, but it was close enough that it didn’t seem entirely odd for the bakery to look like something from a Party City magazine. It wasn’t until you heard a whispy chuckle from behind you that you turned toward the counter, fighting back your breakneck reaction to scream out a curse at the spider monster staring at you with a cloyingly sweet smile. You had grinned, hoping it was the right thing to do, and she simply laughed again, giving you a look that was both sweet and threatening as she gestured you to the counter.
There were a few other patrons in the bakery, all sitting at tables with coffees and sweets, and all of them were monsters. You had no issue with monsters. You never interacted with them, sure, but you never really interacted with anyone so that wasn’t saying much. She had started to make a drink, a few of her hands mixing ingredients while the others worked the register, charging you for a drink you didn’t even plan to buy.
She deftly counted the bills you handed her, straightening them out and getting your change, setting the drink on the counter beside you. You reached out, took your change, but before you could fully pull it away she cleared her throat, grinning wide as all of her eyes glanced obviously down at the tip jar.
Oh.
Right.
You dropped most of it in glass jar, tucking the rest of your money in your pocket as you picked up the drink, taking a sip. It was hot and sweet- not coffee, certainly- almost chocolatey in a way, and you gave a hum of appreciation as you smiled at the spider in front of you.
“This… This is really good. What’s in it?”
She chuckled, covering her fangs with one of her hands while the rest hovered in the air around her. “Oh~ Just some magic, some chocolate, and some spiders~”
You choked mid-sip, forcing yourself to swallow what was already in your mouth. Her eyes narrow, the grin still just as sharp. You took another sip, watching as she bent down and pulled out some kind of pastry, setting it on a small plate decorated with spiders and pushing it to you. You pulled out your wallet once more.
Something told you that you probably wouldn’t make it to your date.
