So in my post about Fairytopia headcanons, I wrote that there was a character mentioned in the og doll map called Spiderella, who I thought could have been the villain before Laverna, and who turned her to evil, so here’s my design for her! Since she posted her personal headcanons for Barbie: Fairytopia and her take on Spiderella, I was inspired by the fabulous @princess-ibri to create my own version of the character

Who is spiderella?????????????? I need to know!😭

I mean... canonically, she is no one. But judging by the map of Fairytopia and a piece of concept art by Walter Martishius (note the title/url), she was most likely an early version of Laverna. I have no idea why they changed her, but given the name, I'm guessing she had a spider aesthetic and maybe she ended up being too scary for kids? But aside from the map and the concept art, I haven't found any reference to her anywhere so I have no idea.

Since I wanted to use the map anyway, I decided to use the name for an oc. She's a moth fairy who farms giant spiders for their silk, and the reason she has a castle is she is crazy rich. She's not evil, but I do ship her with Laverna (as part of Laverna's redemption arc), and part of what they bond over is being misunderstood. Laverna for her powers, Spiderella for her giant spider farming. (Spiderella isn't her real name, either, it's a nickname a la Cinderella. She doesn't mind it, tho.)

Tl;dr she‘s my oc basically. I don’t think anyone else even knew about her before I posted the map lol.
