 I just posted a fun behind the scenes on character heights in Now Recharging, with lots of sketchbook drawings and some thoughts on figuring out (translation: winging it) character details as I go. I’ve also got news on Now Recharging Book 3 debuting at TCAF’s Digital Marketplace this month!

Ahhh, the Threads: Creatures comic anthology Kickstarter is in its final week!  Above are two full page previews from my contribution, ssstudy. In the Behind the Scenes bonus zine, which is one of the campaign rewards, I share some notes about inspirations, my approach to the art, and some of the symbols that appear in the work. There's also original thumbnails for all the pages, and key sketches!

As great as the full anthology itself is, I personally feel like the Behind the Scenes zine adds even more to my appreciation and enjoyment of everyone's stories. I loved learning about the interesting tidbits behind the making of each story, and seeing people's approaches to their craft is incredibly inspiring!

Crossing my fingers and toes hoping to see this project get funded. If you love animals and stories and comics and art and books - and/or know someone who does - please take a look and share this campaign!

Happy Thane Day!! Here’s Julian from Wychwood by @varethane!! I love this guy, he’s so smart and calm and resourceful and definitely the kind of friend you would want on your side. I really appreciate characters like this. Especially when they’re surrounded by rowdy hotheaded unpredictable personalities setting things on fire/water/pink energy waves/whatever other elemental things we might be summoning up in this very cool world of bug-like aliens, flying ships, science-y magic and southern Ontario!!
