We join SPINN as they barrel around penny arcades and the amusements of a northern seaside paradise in search of chippy tea in the band’s new video for their latest single, ‘Is There Something That I Missed?’. They bring us a fresh dousing of their youthful guitar pop and spindly post-punk on the new gem, carrying hints of DIIV and Wild Nothing, as well as some of the dulcet patterns and intonations of the Smiths. Video director Dominic Foster explains of the high concept film that precedes the release of SPINN’s debut album in May: "We had £50 left to make a video, so we decided to change it all for 2ps”. SPINN frontman Johnny Quinn says the band grabbed the idea and ran with it, “We went to Southport, I ate some Cous Cous and we messed about for an hour. This was the result.” 'Is There Something That I Missed?’ speaks to a moment of disconnection and re-connection, a crossed wire where a fleeting flame burns, it is a sense of longing, a need for belonging, a desire and passion that resists and is reborn. The band’s self-titled debut album arrives May 3rd. Pre-order, here.
