Heya Chumblr! A Splatfest is coming up soon and I kinda look forward to it. Mostly because it's a new theme!
I also went ahead and updated my profile picture since it's been a while since I last did that.

A very quick, very late, roundup of this week's Splatoon news:
I was busy all day yesterday, so I couldn't repost all the stuff that got announced during and after the Nintendo Direct in a timely manner. As such all of what I'm gonna talk about here is stuff most y'all have already heard at this point, but I did still want to make a post about it for posterity's sake.
First, the biggest stuff, there was a new gameplay trailer for Splatoon Raiders, and it ended with the announcement of a dedicated Nintendo Direct for the game, as well as a collaboration Splatfest in Splatoon 3. Tying into Raiders, the theme is Speed vs Power vs Tactics. There'll be new Splashtag banners available via a news post coming some time in the weeks prior to the Splatfest to commemorate the occasion.
The Direct is scheduled for June 30th, while the Splatfest is happening on the weekend of the 10th! There was also a Nintendo Treehouse stream after the Direct with a more detailed look at some early Raiders gameplay.
But that's not all the Raiders stuff, as there'll be daily comics releasing via the Nintendo Today app starting on June 23, serving as a prequel of sorts that show the events leading into the start of Raiders.
Additionally, we've got the second-ever BIG Big Run coming next weekend, on the 19th. It's once again taking place on all possible Big Run stages (minus the Grandfest-exclusive Grand Splatlands Bowl), but this time it's a Grizzco Weapons-only rotation! There's also some new custom icon parts available via the Nintendo Switch Online app to mark the occasion.
Finally, we got some patch notes for a new patch dropping like. Right this instant. As I am writing this.
This patch primarily aims to knock the current top tier weapons down a peg by partially rolling back the blast radius increase Blasters got in version 11.0.0, as well as reducing the paint of Heavy Splatling, which got kind of overbuffed in 11.0.0 as well. Aside from that there's the usual array of assorted small buffs and nerfs, as well as some matchmaking changes to X rank.
And that's all the news! At least for the moment, Nintendo could be planning to drop even more stuff tomorrow for all I know. Hopefully I'll be able to repost them on time then!
SplatoonNA:
A new Splatoon Raiders Collaboration Splatfest will take place in the Splatoon 3 game on July 10 through July 12!
This special Splatfest asks: What’s your fighting style? Speed, Power or Tactics?
To commemorate this Splatfest, 9 Splashtags with designs inspired by Splatoon Raiders as well as two titles will be available.
These will be distributed via a Splatoon 3 news article on your Nintendo Switch device prior to the Splatfest.
Please note that the traditional Summer Nights Splatfest will be delayed to late August this year. We appreciate your patience.
I found this old photo of Poe and me at the grand festival. I'm glad they had such a good.
