I really do think they fumbled the Princes of Hell in s12, they only made Azazel a big deal because that was the point of series 1 and 2.

Dagon was literally just Kelly's evil captor and babysitter and I feel like she was only that because Kelly's trust would be there more since it was a woman.

Ramiel was just kinda there and did something I guess??? And also there to remind Mary just what kind of trouble she, Sam, Dean and Cas were in.

I suppose Asmodeus was somewhat better and more prominent and actually did something more than just be "villain of the week".

I know Dagon was there more than once but I mean she was just ordered to stay with Kelly to keep an eye on Jack.

With Asmodeus, he was able to capture and torture Gabriel, obtain loyalty, steal Gabriel's grace for himself, was able to trick Jack by shape-shifting into Donatello, he wasn't killed in his debut or had to prove he was worth following, he showed his scars to remind the demons that yes, he was aware of how Lucifer acted.
