There is a Problem.

There is a problem.
Degredation is its name.
It calls itself righteousness, claims the voice of a higher power, insists in its truth, shovels hatred down our gullets as if it were spooning the last supper into the turkey that will present itself, stuffed, as a meal at the table. It throws away alternative ideologies as if they were spoiled table scraps. It throws rainbows of perfection down the garbage disposal as if they were the rinds of fruit soon to decay. It hordes its feast. It commands us pray. It laughs for our eyes are closed and cannot perceive that it has replaced God with a facade of a centerpiece.
There is a problem.
Destruction is its name.
It calls itself hero; wears its temper as a flag and raises those colors as an excuse against the blue and red blooming across the body of its lover, someone it swore to protect but could not defend against itself because we trained it for battle and without a battle to be won, it creates war within the walls it was supposed to have peace in. It takes its guns upon the street and open fires. It obliterates the brave hearted that may one day have the strength to overcome it, because it knows that the death of destruction is wisdom. It knows we cannot strategize with false statistics. It knows we cannot argue when our tears are hot knives clawing down our cheeks. It knows we cannot stand up if our eyes are being stomped into the dirt, the rocks of terror slicing into them, gouging away what could have been our purpose.
There is a problem.
Apathy is its name.
It calls itself safety; closing the doors of its heart, letting famine and disease destroy all not enveloped by its stereotypes of purity and calling that horrorendous perversion of life, justice...it sits easy, without an ounce of regret or shame. It wears its comfort as a blanket, takes its rhetoric from Degradation and Destruction, preaches thoughts and prayers instead of I have not yet begun to fight.
There is a problem.
Entitlement is its name. It is larger than a mansion and cries like a child. Degradation, Destruction and Apathy are its minions, laying riches at its feet. Its body is an old white man with a perfectly pressed suit and tie to hide the hollow hole that gapes like a wound where a heart should be. Its voice causes earthquakes to bring punishment and blame upon those who rise up to question its ill earned riches. Its words are contradictory, as oil onto flame, sparking, sputtering, stirring to madness the embers of confusion left from thousands who suffer and only want the relief of Entitlement's false promises.
There is a problem.
And even though it has a name. It makes us into its Monsters. We perpetuate it, let it grow, feed it, mold it, get consumed or obliterated by it.
There is a problem.
How do we make it, end.
Lookie lookie, it’s my big brother singing in his room.
We used to play Bionicles in there, good times.
