Silence in a Field of Dandelions

every place has it's secrets
hidden treasures, or
gorgeous views
but somewhere in the forest
of a no-name town
there is a field of dandelions.
the grass is yellow and dry, the sky
an endless pool of constellations
and in the middle
is a nice rock
surrounded by dandelions.
the air is calm
a cool breeze brushing the grass and weeds
this way and that
gently.
sitting on the rock is easy
staying?
not so much.
as soon as you sit down, you
will shudder and something will
whistle in your ears, but
you will not be able to find the source.
The serenity from before will vanish
around your rock
the air turning ice cold and thin
almost instantaneously.
it's hard to breathe, but
your limbs will lock in the cold air
preventing you from moving.
The longer you stay
the thinner and colder the air grows
the louder the whistling gets
until it is all but screaming in your ears.
your vision will grow spotty, and
if you are able to focus, before
your vision cuts out
you may see a soft blue silhouette
moving rapidly around you, it's
jerky, angry movements contradicting
the calming color that it's illuminated by.
when you awaken, the
field will be as serene as it was
before you touched the rock, only
you're a ways away from it
making you wonder if you had been dreaming.
But the grass is bent
oh-so slightly in a path from the rock to you
deeper more in some places than others, as if
you had been dragged sporadically.
as you sit up
the air will tense
the temperature will drop
just the slightest bit, and
if you've got a good eye
you might catch a glimpse of soft blue
above the rock.
when you leave
the atmosphere of the field will relax
serene once more, and
in the silence of it all
a quite tune is whistled without a source.
