"Are you sure you want to speak with him?" One of the two police officers asks. He and his colleague seem nervous as they follow a young woman donning the golden badge on her belt, a sign of her rank among the police.
"You know who he is, right?" He continues before the other officer chimes in. "I don't think so. Detective Halcyon is new here. It's not like she would know who the suspect and his family is."
"Care to give me the rundown, then?" Harmony asks, winning the men's attention while she continues down the long corridor.
"Yes, ma'am!" The second officer answers as he hands her a folder. Harmony opens it, her silver eyes reading the information of the case she's assigned to. "Monday Addams, age eighteen. He's a son of the Addams family and...well...they're known to be odd. Creepy even!"
"That's putting it lightly." The first officer adds with a scoff. This earns a sharp glance from Harmony. "Parker, where are your manners?" She asks, "You can't make assumptions based on appearances or family. What matters are the facts. Especially with this case."
"Apologies...It's just, we get a lot of calls on them. We don't like dealing with that family because of how they are. They're kind of freaky, but not mean. They're polite even! It's just..." Officer Parker's voice drifts off before the other, Officer Bently, pipes up. "With the rise of murders and their links to the Occult, we assume that this man is responsible. He has an interest in the ghastly and macabre. It was only a matter of time until he acted."
"That's enough!" Harmony chides with her head turned over her shoulder. The trio stops in their tracks just before a door leading into the interrogation room where Monday is.
"I swear, if you arrested him based on how he is or where he's from, then I will be seeing your supervisor about this." The detective gives her a warning before her attention returns to the door. "Regardless of what you say, I'm taking over the case. I will be asking Mister Addams some questions about the recent murders. Please don't intimidate him more than you probably have."
"Kind of hard to do that, ma'am. He's already a disturbed guy." Parker says before earning a nudge from Bently. Harmony rolls her eyes at this before one hand reaches for the door. She closes the folder in her other hand as she enters the room. The door closes behind her and she offers Monday a gentle smile. "Mister Monday Addams?"
