In Tune

Always close as we can be;

Always farther than we need.

Each "perfect" pitch, but never match,

Flaws we cannot seem to patch.

Some too high, too low, too true,

Yet all are out of tune.

One melody sung together, all wrong

The higher, the lower, the discordant song.

Same note, same time,

Wrong pitch, right rhyme.

Together voices ring; not one.

Can they not hear the song that we've sung?

The closer, the harsher

The differences sound.

So close

So tragically wrong.

That was my favorite Spring Sing.

Literally best night of the year. As corny as that sounds lol

Can we all just pause for a second and let out a collective squeal that Alanis Morissette is this year's George and Ira Gershwin Award recipient?

I could honestly cry I am so happy.

I love and respect that woman to an unfathomable degree.

I know she's not one to enjoy being put on a pedestal (hah), but she deserves the acknowledgement as the bard for womankind.

Spring Sing 2014: We will be inspired. We will be enlightened. And we will have a new reason to be proud to be a Bruin.
