Danganronpa Another Episode: Y2K fashion, Toko Fukawa

This is a super duper late but it’s here nonetheless, the final decade piece of the protagonists of the Danganronpa collection. Moving on, the pieces will no longer have the quick phrases as I only included those in protagonists but will be a variety of different angles and compositions for the characters! I think if I can commit to working on these hard enough, I may turn each decade into a sort of artbook or zine haha. 

Anyways, Toko isn’t one of my favorites but goodness she is super interesting and I love her role in Ultra Despair Girls so much! I wanted her outfit to be that of an edgier everyday fashion that you’d find in the movies of Y2K, super baggy pants, a crop long-sleeved top with loads of accessories and black nail polish. I know that in Ultra Despair Girls, her hair is down but I love her braids and I really wanted to keep them- forgive me haha.

Betilla - Parasoul sprite-edit

Done at the request of @skit-skitty / @splatty-skitty . Here’s hoping for Fairy assist trophies and a full Rayman addition for Smash! (I also want Viewtiful Joe, but the Rabbid/Altair tease was too cruel!)

I haven’t played any of the Rayman games, but those fairies from the Origins game are hella cute; especially Betilla.

This edit went a lot better than I had expected, even more so taking the completely absence of any art work between now and the previous effort.

( Too many things I need to do + too many things I want to do ) / (not enough time) = nothing ever gets done.

Danganronpa V3: 90′s fashion, Shuichi Saihara

More V3! Shuichi is such a cute character, he’s smart but kind-of edgy but also soft. I thought that a comfortable nerdy-ish burnout style would suit him, I wanted his pants to be plaid as a sort of reference to detectives and tweed but it just ended up looking grandpa-ish haha. Nonetheless I provided an optional version of him with some 90′s grunge glasses. The sprite looks kind of awkward, but that’s fine haha.

Danganronpa V3: 90′s fashion, Angie Yonaga

I finished the two main characters of V3, so now I’ve drawn one of the many characters that I like in the series- Angie! She’s a really interesting character who has some of the most variety in her dynamics with others in my opinion haha. For her style I wanted her to have both the hippie style of the 90s and the surfer style. So her outfit is very much a mix of those with the Hawaiian-style button-up and embroidered shorts. I also wanted her to have plenty of accessories, my favorite being the friendship anklet and some bright nail polish. 

Out of it all though, I knew when sketching that I wanted her to have those wooden bead doorways that were popular at the time and I wanted her to be in a very earthy-looking art studio- so I did just that!

Danganronpa 2: 80′s fashion, Peko Pekoyama.

Kinda spoiler-y but I really wanted to make use of Peko’s ultimate talent of a swordswoman. Such an action-forward talent, I really wanted to make her fashion outfit more action-y to match so I added some texture to make it look like an Action Comic.

Danganronpa: 70′s fashion, Chihiro Fujisaki

This one took LOTS of redrawing and meddling to get the desired appearance but nonetheless it’s done! Chihiro is a fav for many, and I find them to be quite lovely as well! I wanted to give Chihiro an outfit that was more androgynous and the art composition to be that of an old photoshoot- complete with bright lights, a ridiculously large prop, and backgrounds that are simultaneously flashy and neutral haha. 

Regarding the sprite, I was super surprised to find out just HOW small Chihiro was, they really are a teeny one lol.

Danganronpa Another Episode: Y2K fashion, Komaru Naegi.

Often overlooked, I really liked UDG and I thought I should definitely include the game in my decade-based fashion art things haha. Komaru is a fun and kinda basic girl so I thought that her fashion would reflect that. I chose a sparkly crop-top and some low-rise flare jeans, but the most important part of this fashion era is the accessories and makeup- which I made sure not to forget! A very fun design that sent me through memory lane hahaha.
