Yes! That would make a great fic; The Duke finding ways to write Toph a letter only to realize there is no way and he must muster up the courage to say the words to her face. 

I'm a terrible writer though, so I won't even try...but I'd like to read a fic like this *cough* hint hint.

A friend once suggested “Collide” by Howie Day. It Works pretty well. But I’m short on ideas of my own here, be interested in the results.

Yes, Collide is a great fit. It's one of those "accidental love" kind of songs.

Here what I have so far: King and Lionheart by Of Monsters and Men - can be interpreted as a warrior love anthem.

Drumming Song by Florence and The Machine - in which Toph complains of a noise that turns out to be The Duke's heart beat :))

Can't Go Back Now by The Weepies - In which The Duke is totally down with giving Toph the independence she needs, but at the same time being always there to support her.

These are mostly shippy songs though, I'm looking for something like a fighting soundtrack for them.
