New project from Stamps alumna Margaret Hitch produced during a recent artist residency at Spudnik Press in Chicago.
Margaret writes about her project: “I recently came to the end of a 6-month studio fellowship at Spudnik Press. During the fellowship, three other fellows and I worked for Spudnik by monitoring open studio sessions in exchange for studio access. While I was there I worked on a personal project, participated in a portfolio exchange with Spudnik’s members and took a class on risography. I also co-taught a community workshop on silkscreen monotyping, a process which was new to me, and which I enjoyed experimenting with. I really enjoyed meeting and was inspired by the work of the other fellows, interns, resident artists, members and studio renters that make up Spudnik’s community. I hope to stay involved with Spudnik during my time in Chicago - it’s a great resource and community space!”
