Neo grabbed Emerald's hand, rushing into the tiny alleyway, and leaving a copy of them running down the street. Their breathing sounded too loud and harsh in the small space as they listened to the officers rushing past the mouth of the alley. Emerald glanced down at Neo and flushed at just how close they were at that moment. Neo was staring at the front of the alley, bottom lip caught in her teeth as she listened closely.

She noticed Emerald staring at her and quirked her lips up into, not quite a smirk, but not a smile either and pressed a finger to her mouth, miming a 'shh'. Emerald's eyes caught on her mouth and felt a helpless, hysterical giggle bubbling up in her chest. She swallowed around the laugh and whispered "I...I think we could leave now." Neo shrugged and smiled at her, eyes focusing on Emerald's own mouth.

She pulled her hands up to say "yeah, we could." Their breaths mingled in the tiny space between them and Emerald could feel it hot against her exposed collarbone. Neo's hands settled on her hips and she moved impossibly closer and Emerald leaned down. Their mouths brushed and Emerald's breath hitched.
