Title: Undeniable Bonds
Pairing: Chrom/F!Robin
Word Count: 640
A/N: what's up with that characterization....and this had a lame end....but...enjoy anyways! This came dreadfully late tho lmao.
“Gods, Chrom, why are you reckless in battle?” Robin began, the tactician’s eyes glancing at the prince with hints of annoyance. The Exalt was obviously surprised by the tactician’s accusation, opened his mouth to protest. “I don’t know what I can do without you, Chrom! You’re my best unit! Actually, I would have to reset if you actually died….” Robin mumbled at the end, hoping that her words won’t catch attention of Chrom’s ears.
“Huh? Robin, I’m not being reckless!” Chrom exclaimed, ‘It’s just that YOU are putting me at the front lines!” Luckily, Chrom didn’t actually hear her mutter the other sentence, since he was caught up in his own troubles. He sighed, unconsciously smoothing out his hair. The tactician was being ludicrous. “…Really, why would you do that if I’m your…husband?” Chrom coughed awkwardly after he spoke, red rising on his cheeks.
He still couldn’t believe that he was honored to be Robin’s husband. Well, it was either Robin or some village maiden since all of the girls were married off. (He would’ve gone for Sumia but she just HAD to go and get herself hitched. Gods, the nerve of her. Perhaps Robin did that, just so she could have blue haired Inigo…whatever that meant. It didn’t work out like that. But that’s a story for another day.) Also, he had no interest in Olivia. Although she looked appealing, he wasn’t sure if he should even try to burst through her shyness. Maybe another day.
The Exalt didn’t regret marrying the tactician, even though it was odd that the commander and the tactician were that close… The people were surprised by Chrom marrying the amnesiac. They thought it was weird and sudden, but Chrom didn’t. Obviously. Robin really didn’t give a shit either. They were a well matched couple, nonetheless. Cordelia had nothing against Robin, thankfully, and seemed to get over it. Well, Chrom didn’t even know, but….whatever.
“Chrom?” The tactician’s voice rang in the air. Chrom reddened again, since he was an awkward dork. “Aha, were you spacing out?” Chrom nodded, before letting out a somber sigh. The girl with silver hair blinked, a bit confused by his sudden bout of sentimental feelings. Maybe it wasn’t entirely sentimental, but she thought it was. Remember, she’s a master tactician. Trust her on this.
“I’m just thinking,” He eventually replied, now trying to brainstorm ways to present her with another small conflict instead of the publicity the couple got. He seriously didn’t give a fuck about it, but he was stilly antsy about it. Well, the result of Morgan always interested him, so maybe he’ll start there. “What if Morgan isn’t actually born?” The words flew out of his mouth; a look of blatant worry was evident on the Exalt’s face. “Like…say he turns out to be a girl instead. Or something happens where Morgan doesn’t even exist-”
A wave of melodic laughter interrupted Chrom’s ludicrous ramblings. He raised an eyebrow, asking for an explanation. “It’s ironic. I thought that I would actually be the one who would ask that.” She explained, a small grin was present on her face. She boldly wrapped her arms around her husband, and looked up at him. “We should just focus on the war instead.” She murmured, before grabbing the book that was next to her. “So, war tactics. Like I was saying earlier Chrom, don’t try to-“
“Like I said earlier, it’s. NOT. MY. FAULT.” Chrom bit back childishly, “Anyways, I’m the leader of the Shepherds, so it’s my obligation to lead-“
Another giggle resurfaced, once again interrupting Chrom. He sighed, but kept silent. “…really, I love you.” She smiled, “Now please, don’t just charge into battle like that. I don’t want to waste my money for staves, so just try to stay-“
happiness hit her like a train on a track, and all i am is a man,god that was strange to see you again, look who's digging their own grave, forget your problems.
