tbh the weakness of ALL the fire emblem games has always been that they need to write themselves in a way so that they’ll still make sense if you kill everyone but the two or three main characters >_>
thats fair i guess and i know ive only played the two gba games outside of this one so i cant speak for the full spectrum of the games but at least in other instalments u get the sense that things are, bigger than your two or three instant game over characters??
the armies felt like they had a lot more personality probably due to the recruitment conversations given and how sometimes they'd show up to be useful and relevant past the chapter where you unlock them as opposed to fea where it's literally just the chrom+robin show 24/7 with the occasional guest appearance by one of five other people
the narrative lays so much weight on ~*~ the ties that bind ~*~ yet you dont really get a sense of that at all and it just, bothers me, that lack of real group dynamic
